Venture Consulting Group is a family-owned, boutique consulting group with decades of experience in management consulting, small-business advisory services, and startup ventures. We specialize in providing advice and support to small and mid-size companies. We focus on Opportunity Assessment, Product Launch and Market Entry, Commercialization, and Corporate Strategy.
Founded and led by Managing Director Jim Hall, VCG has a team of seasoned consultants with industry practical experience.

Jim Hall
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR
Jim Hall is a Global Life Sciences strategy advisor and Managing Partner of the Venture Consulting Group. Most recently, Jim was a Senior Vice President at The Jackson Laboratory. Jim was responsible for the Commercial Strategy andCorporate Development with a global team of 45 staff.
Jim’s experience spans Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Devices and Healthcare Technology companies. He has particular expertise in Corporate Strategy and Commercialization including Product Launch and Market Entry as well as Pricing and Reimbursement.
Previous to JAX, Jim has held various positions in Consulting and the Life Sciences Industry. They include; President of Wood Mackenzie Life Sciences, Executive Director and CEO of the State of Rhode Island’s Biotechnology Incubator, COO and CFO of Stanford Research Institute’s Consulting Division, SVP of Corporate Strategy for the Sterling Drug Company, Managing Director and Senior Partner at Oliver Wyman and Senior Vice President at CSC Index.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Jim has been a board member of several companies including; Acceleration BioPharmaceuticals, Intellisys, Inc., LMS Medical Systems, Physiome Sciences, Slater Center for Biotechnology Development, SRI International and Wood Mackenzie Ltd.

Greg Hall
PARTNER
Greg Hall is a seasoned management consultant and entrepreneur. Recently, Greg spent 10 years as a Senior Engagement Manager at Prophet, a global consulting firm specializing in brand, marketing, and growth strategy.
At Prophet, Greg led multidisciplinary teams for a number of Fortune 500 clients, including go-to-market strategies for new business units and product launches for clients in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Enterprise Technology, and Retail sectors.
Outside of his consulting career, Greg has successfully launched two small businesses in the retail and entertainment spaces, reaching a combined revenue of $1.5M in just two years since inception.
Greg holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with concentrations in Marketing and Sports Business from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
